It's great that the batteries, CR2032, are available at most drugstores, groceries, etc. It is accurate about 80-90% of the time...sometimes for a whole 1-2 hour session it is 100% accurate...but sometimes it gets wild with very high readings of 180-220 bpm when I'm at 85 bpm. This can last for 30 seconds to 5+ minutes then it goes back to the correct reading. Learn to take your pulse for 10 seconds, multiply up by 6...or do as I did: just memorize the x6 multiples of 10-25 so you can dbl check the accuracy of the monitor when it gets wild. This is a minor and fixable problem compared to paying for repackaging and sending in a Polar or similar monitor when the battery wears out. I can use this one for years...and if it breaks, it's way cheaper to replace it at that great price. Nike has a winner. BTW: Can't tell you about battery life...just got it two months ago. But, CR2032 batteries last for 1-2 years on other products we have in our house. It will depend on how much you use the monitor and the watch. CVS Drugstore sells a packaged pair for under $10.
